Iron Heart 9oz Selvedge Flannel Check Work Shirt – Sax Blue / IHSH-442

Iron Heart’s flannels have earned cult status for a reason, and the IHSH-442-SAX delivers the same craftsmanship in a lighter, more versatile format. Instead of the brand’s signature Ultra Heavy Flannel fabric, this shirt uses a 9oz selvedge unbrushed flannel, offering a cooler and more breathable feel while maintaining substantial structure and durability. The sax blue plaid is inspired by Iron Heart’s highly sought-after 20th anniversary UHF from 2022, blending classic American workwear style with a distinctive vintage-inspired color palette.

What sets this fabric apart is the weaving process behind it. Produced on one of only four shuttle looms in Japan capable of creating these intricate plaid patterns, the fabric requires constant weft yarn changes during weaving. Unlike earlier 9oz flannels designed to fade, this version uses reactive-dyed warp and weft yarns, resulting in excellent color retention with virtually no fading expected.

Finished with selvedge detailing, chainstitched side seams, felled internal seams, and signature orange bobbin thread construction, the IHSH-442-SAX is a standout seasonal flannel with serious character — lightweight enough for spring, but substantial enough to wear all year long.
