Founded in 2010 in Kojima, Okayama, Japan Blue Jeans represents the modern face of Japanese denim. The brand was created by Hiroki Kishimoto under the Japan Blue Group, alongside Momotaro, with the goal of showcasing fabrics developed in-house and tailoring them to contemporary fits. Unlike Momotaro, which emphasizes tradition and purist details, Japan Blue focuses on innovation - making selvedge denim accessible without compromising on quality.
What sets Japan Blue apart is complete control of the production process: from cotton selection and indigo rope-dyeing to weaving and sewing. The brand’s celebrated Circle series introduced a curved waistband for superior comfort and fit, blending timeless five-pocket design with subtle innovation.
Operating out of Kojima, the heart of Japanese denim, Japan Blue continues to balance heritage with progress. Each pair embodies the belief that “the quality of jeans begins with the fabric” - resulting in garments built to age gracefully and connect wearers worldwide to the craft of Japanese selvedge.
