Chup Socks

Founded in 2009 by Mr. Hashimoto under Glen Clyde Inc., CHUP Socks transforms everyday essentials into wearable art. The brand draws inspiration from indigenous and folk patterns worldwide - from Native American and Ainu motifs to Fair Isle and Guatemalan textiles - reinterpreted through a distinctly Japanese lens.

Production remains intentionally limited. Each pair is knitted on vintage low-gauge stocking frame machines, many over 40 years old, producing no more than 20–30 pairs a day. Techniques like hand-linked toes and meticulous yarn selection ensure comfort and durability without sacrificing the intricate, multicolor patterns that define CHUP. Every sock is inspected by master craftsmen before leaving the factory, underscoring their commitment to uncompromising quality.

Beloved in the workwear and denim community, CHUP has become the natural companion to boots and selvedge jeans. More than accessories, these socks embody a philosophy: honoring cultural heritage through craft, detail, and design that bridges tradition and modern style.
