Founded in 2005 by Hayato Muramatsu in Akita, Japan, Deluxeware has become one of the country’s most uncompromising makers of American-style casual wear. Guided by the philosophy of “Legit Quality,” the brand merges historical U.S. workwear and denim traditions with modern Japanese precision, producing garments designed to endure.
Unlike most labels, Deluxeware controls every stage of production. At its own Oldact factory, Muramatsu and his team restore and operate vintage Union Special sewing machines and shuttle looms, recreating fabrics and construction methods long abandoned by mass industry. Shirts, jeans, and tees are cut and sewn in-house, with obsessive attention paid to stitch count, shrinkage, and alignment. The result is clothing that feels less like reproduction and more like a living artifact.
From heavyweight denim woven in Okayama to flannels and loopwheel knits sourced from regional mills across Japan, Deluxeware’s materials reflect both rarity and depth. Every piece embodies the brand’s goal: to create garments of such integrity that they improve with time, standing as proof that uncompromising craftsmanship still has a place in the modern world.
As the sister brand of Deluxeware, Dalee’s & Co. explores a different corner of vintage American style. While Deluxeware pursues “Legit Quality” through faithful yet evolving reproductions, Dalee’s asks a more imaginative question: what if this brand had existed in the early 1900s?
The result is a line of original designs with vintage character, inspired by garments from the turn of the 20th century but created as if they were born in that era. Each piece is produced in Deluxeware’s Oldact factory in Akita, sewn on restored Union Special machines and often made from specialty fabrics like 7oz loopwheeled jersey or gas-singed slub yarns. These slow, traditional processes give Dalee’s clothing its signature dry hand, natural stretch, and authentic look.
Together with Deluxeware, Dalee’s & Co. represents a complete vision of Japanese Americana - bridging history, imagination, and uncompromising craftsmanship.
