The UES Rahben Stitch Polo Shirt is a perfect example of how traditional Japanese craftsmanship can elevate an everyday classic. While polo shirts originated on tennis and polo fields in the early 20th century, UES reinterprets the garment through the lens of vintage manufacturing and fabric development.
At the heart of this polo is UES's proprietary Rahben Stitch fabric, knitted on an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine (loopwheeled). Unlike conventional pique fabrics, the Rahben construction combines slub yarns on the face and irregular yarns on the reverse, creating a richly textured surface with exceptional depth and character. The densely knitted fabric results in a substantial hand feel that is noticeably firmer and more durable than most modern polo shirts.
Matching the robust fabric are thick ribbed collar and cuffs, a wide placket, and carefully taped interior seams running from the sleeves to the hem. Garment dyed for a naturally aged appearance and finished with subtle sleeve embroidery, this polo will continue to develop character with wear while retaining its structure for years to come.
