Taion Military W-Zip Down Vest – Akane Orange

Named after the Japanese word for body temperature, Taion specializes in lightweight insulation designed to deliver warmth without unnecessary bulk. The Military W-Zip V-Neck Down Vest is one of the signature pieces from the brand’s Military Line, combining functional military-inspired construction with an exceptionally versatile layering design.

The outer shell is made from durable 5mm square ripstop polyester and finished with Taion’s distinctive onion quilting. Inside, premium 800 fill-power down provides impressive insulation for its low weight. Compared with conventional down around 600FP, the higher loft traps more insulating air for its weight, allowing the vest to remain light and compact while providing substantial warmth.

Functionality is central to the design. A two-way YKK front zipper can be opened from either direction to regulate ventilation and adjust the silhouette, while zippered side slits increase freedom of movement and make trouser pockets easier to access when layered. Two generously sized patch pockets add everyday utility, and the V-neck construction sits comfortably beneath jackets and coats without adding bulk around the collar.

Designed with unisex sizing, the vest works equally well as an insulating mid-layer or worn over shirts, sweatshirts, and knitwear. A compact storage bag makes it particularly practical for travel.
