Sugar Cane 14.25oz 1947 Black Selvedge Jeans – Black / Regular Straight

The Sugar Cane 1947 Model is one of the most faithful recreations of post-war American denim ever produced. This black edition retains the exact proportions, construction details, and uncompromising craftsmanship that established the original as an enduring icon.

Woven in Japan on vintage Toyoda shuttle looms, the 14.25oz selvedge denim combines a sulphur-dyed black warp with a natural, undyed weft. Rather than creating a deep, uniform black, this construction produces a rich charcoal tone with a distinct vintage character. The uneven yarn structure, developed from a blend of American and Zimbabwe cotton, creates the irregular texture and remarkable fading potential that define exceptional denim.

The high-rise, regular straight silhouette offers generous room through the top block while maintaining a clean, timeless leg shape. Hidden copper rivets, iron buttons, raised belt loops, heavy-duty pocket bags, tonal stitching, and a vegetable-tanned deerskin patch complete a pair of jeans designed to develop character with every wear.

Unlike many modern black jeans, the SC42460 evolves much like classic indigo denim, revealing depth, contrast, and a uniquely personal patina over time.
