Spellbound 12oz Ultra-Soft Selvedge Jeans – Indigo Rinsed / Wide Tapered

The Spellbound Wide Tapered Jeans reinterpret classic American denim with a contemporary Japanese silhouette. Made from the same 12oz ultra-soft selvedge denim as the brand's Regular Straight model, these jeans combine the authentic character of vintage denim with a more generous, modern fit. A higher rise, roomy seat, and wide thighs create a relaxed silhouette, while a carefully balanced taper toward the hem keeps the overall proportions clean and distinctive.

The 12oz Japanese selvedge denim is woven slowly on traditional shuttle looms using slubby cotton yarns and pure indigo rope-dyed warp threads. The low-tension weaving process creates a naturally irregular texture reminiscent of mid-century American denim, with subtle variations in the yarn that become increasingly pronounced as the indigo fades. The fabric has a substantial yet comfortable feel, offering the character of traditional denim without excessive weight or stiffness.

A one-wash finish softens the fabric and minimizes further shrinkage while preserving its deep indigo color. Authentic five-pocket construction includes a button fly, vintage-inspired metal buttons, copper rivets, and reinforced stitching. Contrasting thread colors highlight the construction, while the white selvedge ID and chainstitched hems add traditional details that look particularly good with the cuffs turned up.

Made in Okayama, Japan, these jeans bring together Spellbound's appreciation for vintage workwear, carefully developed denim fabrics, and contemporary fit design.
