Prequel 8oz Combat Field Shorts – Indigo Dye / Duck Hunter Camo

At first glance, the Prequel Combat Indigo Field Shorts reveal little of their story. Inspired by mid-century military field wear, they combine a clean, understated silhouette with the hidden complexity that has become a signature of the brand.

Cut from an 8oz Japanese herringbone fabric, the shorts draw inspiration from reversible camouflage patterns developed during the 1940s. The Duck Hunter motif is printed on both sides of the cloth before indigo dye is applied to the outer surface. Because the indigo remains primarily on the face of the fabric, it gradually fades through wear, exposing more of the underlying camouflage pattern and creating a character unique to each pair.

The details are equally thoughtful. A large cargo pocket nods to vintage field trousers, while the WALDES zipper and Tagua palm nut button provide a distinctly period-correct feel. Turning up the hem reveals the hidden green camouflage lining, adding contrast beneath the deep indigo exterior.

Designed for warm summer days in the city as much as for time spent outdoors, these shorts are another example of Prequel's ability to transform historical references into garments that continue to evolve with every wear.
