The OrSlow WWII 40's U.S. Navy Utility Trousers draw inspiration from the practical work pants issued to U.S. Navy personnel during the 1940s. Staying remarkably close to the originals, the silhouette features a high rise, generous room through the top block, and a wide straight leg that reflects the functional military design of the era. The result is a relaxed, balanced fit that feels timeless rather than trend-driven.
Like the matching coverall, the defining feature is the fabric. Constructed from 100% linen, the cloth offers a naturally irregular texture, excellent breathability, and a dry hand feel. It is then coated on both sides using traditional Japanese sumi ink, creating a rich matte black appearance with remarkable depth and character. Unlike conventional dyeing methods, the coating gradually wears through use, washing, and creasing, revealing more of the linen beneath and allowing the trousers to develop a highly individual patina over time.
Combining authentic military workwear design with one of Japan's most distinctive textile treatments, these trousers embody OrSlow's philosophy of creating garments that improve through years of wear rather than simply age.
