Naked & Famous 22oz ‘Elephant 2 Reborn’ Selvedge Jeans – Weird Guy / Regular Tapered

A heavyweight legend returns. The Elephant 2 Reborn marks the third release of one of the most celebrated fabrics in Naked & Famous’ Elephant Series. Originally earning cult status among dedicated raw denim enthusiasts, this 22oz Japanese selvedge denim is back for those who appreciate the demanding break-in, dramatic transformation, and extraordinary fading potential of true heavyweight denim.

Woven in Japan from 100% cotton with rope-dyed indigo yarns, the fabric starts out exceptionally dense, rigid, and deeply saturated. At 22oz, the denim has substantial structure and requires patience during the initial break-in period. But that resistance is part of its appeal. With consistent wear, the tightly constructed fabric gradually relaxes, softens, and begins to mold to the wearer's body, developing deep creases, sharp honeycombs, and bold, high-contrast fades. The rich indigo surface slowly gives way to lighter blue tones, revealing the individual character that has made the original Elephant 2 such a sought-after denim.

Cut in the Weird Guy fit, the jeans feature a mid high rise and a more fitted silhouette through the hips and thighs, gradually tapering from the knee to the hem. This classic tapered cut gives the substantial 22oz denim a cleaner, more streamlined profile without losing its unmistakable heavyweight character. Finished with contrast stitching, tin hardware, a button fly, and an exceptionally thick 10oz natural vegetable-tanned leather patch that develops its own patina alongside the denim.
