The John Lofgren Wabash Engineer Boots represent the pinnacle of traditional engineer boot design, refined through decades of study and executed with uncompromising Japanese craftsmanship. Based on an extensive archive of vintage engineer boots, this model distills the best proportions and construction details of mid-20th-century originals into a precise, balanced silhouette built on John Lofgren’s custom 110 last.

Crafted from natural, undyed Horween Chromexcel roughout, the leather starts in a light, raw tone and gradually darkens with wear, light, and moisture. Its roughout surface offers durability and character, while the dense Chromexcel tannage ensures long-term structure and depth. Each pair develops a unique patina, shaped entirely by how it’s worn.

Construction is uncompromising: Goodyear storm welted, fitted with Japanese steel shanks, brass buckles, and oil-resistant USA-made Vibram 705 half soles with 700 heels. Heavy single, double, and triple stitching reinforces high-stress areas, while the stacked woodsman heel and tall shaft complete the classic engineer profile. Made start to finish in Japan, this is a serious boot for those who value authenticity, material honesty, and longevity.
