Fullcount x GDC GFC2001 9.5oz Leather Collar Denim Chore Jacket – Black

The Fullcount x GDC Leather Collar Denim Chore Jacket takes Fullcount’s classic Lot 2015 Chore Jacket as its foundation and gives the familiar workwear silhouette a darker, more refined character. Created together with Japanese label GDC, the collaboration combines Fullcount’s expertise in denim and vintage American workwear with carefully restrained streetwear influences.

Founded in 1998 by Japanese stylist, photographer, and creative director Takashi Kumagai, GDC — originally known as Grand Canyon — emerged from Japan’s influential late-1990s streetwear scene. Revived in 2025, the label continues Kumagai’s approach of mixing vintage references, functional clothing, and contemporary Japanese design. Here, that influence is deliberately understated rather than graphic.

The jacket is cut from 9.5oz Japanese slub denim, woven with black-dyed warp and weft yarns. The irregular yarn gives the otherwise monochromatic fabric visible texture and provides the foundation for increasingly pronounced tonal variation as the black denim fades through wear. A substantial textured cowhide collar adds contrast in both surface and material and will develop its own patina alongside the denim.

Several details distinguish the GFC2001 from Fullcount’s standard chore jacket. The conventional exterior chest pocket has been moved inside, leaving an unusually clean front framed by two large lower patch pockets. Custom Fullcount x GDC metal buttons, all-black stitching, and a discreet eight-pointed GDC star embroidery on the left chest maintain the almost entirely black appearance.

The GFC2001 is a particularly considered interpretation of Fullcount workwear — familiar in construction, but transformed through material, proportion, and restrained collaborative detailing.
