There is nothing like an Eastman A-2 leather jacket, except an original! Eastman Leather specializes in recreating garments of military aviation since the 1980s. Eastman pays homage to these timeless classics by using only a specialist range of heritage garments and products for their handmade jackets. The design and quality match the original in every possible detail. Because most of the garments are not available any more, they have to be specially made and painstakingly recreated at great expense.
In 1999 Eastman was approached by Hollywood to provide 80 A-2 jackets for the blockbuster movie Pearl Harbor. The producers requested the jackets should ideally have a degree of wear to look authentic. The Time Worn finish is a subtle but noticeable degree of ageing affected to the garment to give it a handsome vintage appearance. Time Worn is hand done, and takes many hours to achieve. The material does not undergo Time Worn until the garment is fully-made, thus more authentic wear characteristics can be achieved. Time Worn gives you a cool looking jacket right from the first minute you put it on which would otherwise take many months, even years to achieve through normal wear. It gives it a natural lived-in appearance with subtle creasing, burnishing and ageing all in the right places. A Time Worn jacket shortcuts the long wait until a jacket is worn-in and gives you a seasoned, broken-in garment right out of the box.
