Deluxeware DX7022 22oz Heavyweight Selvedge Jeans – Regular Straight

Developed exclusively for the overseas market, the Deluxeware DX7022 is a limited-production release that takes the brand’s uncompromising approach to Japanese denim to an entirely different weight class. Built around an exceptional 22oz heavyweight selvedge denim, these jeans combine the timeless proportions of classic American five-pocket jeans with Deluxeware’s distinctive construction details and meticulous Japanese craftsmanship.

The heart of the DX7022 is Deluxeware’s proprietary 22oz selvedge denim, woven in Ibara, Okayama Prefecture, on vintage shuttle looms. Made from deliberately uneven slub cotton yarns, the fabric develops a dense, richly textured surface with a rugged character. Deep rope-dyed indigo warp yarns contrast with a natural weft, creating the foundation for pronounced vertical fading and individual wear patterns. Initially substantial and rigid, the heavyweight denim gradually softens, molds to the wearer, and develops its own character through everyday use.

Construction takes place entirely at Deluxeware’s in-house Oldact factory in Odate, Akita Prefecture, using vintage Union Special and Singer sewing machines. Stitching specifications are individually adjusted to accommodate movement and reinforce high-stress areas. Signature details include the distinctive Eagle Arch back pockets, red bartack reinforcements, custom copper rivets with hidden back-pocket rivets, and a striking red cowhide leather patch.

The Regular Straight fit offers a comfortable, classic silhouette with room through the thighs and a straight leg from knee to hem. Unsanforized but one-washed, the DX7022 delivers everything that makes heavyweight Japanese denim so rewarding: substantial construction, exceptional texture, and the potential to become a truly personal pair of jeans over years of wear.
