Buzz Rickson’s ‘Flying Tiger - 23rd Fighter Group’ HBT Work Shirt - Olive

Buzz Rickson’s Herringbone Twill Work Shirt, is a historically grounded tribute to the legendary 23rd Fighter Group, the direct successor of the original Flying Tigers (AVG), now under the official command of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). On the chest, they too wore the hand-applied winged tiger emblem. The back features a military-style stencil print reading: “TWENTY THIRD FIGHTER GROUP / SEVENTY FIFTH FIGHTER SQ.” The 75th Fighter Squadron remains an active unit of the U.S. Air Force to this day.

The finely woven, extra-dense herringbone twill cotton - using double the amount of threads - is lightweight yet durable, impressing with its smooth texture and iridescent sheen - which gradually fades with wear and gives way to a higher contrast in the herringbone structure.
