Warehouse Co. Lot 1008 13.5oz 1947 ‘MW Pre-Rodeo’ Selvedge Jeans – Indigo / Regular Straight

The Lot 1008 1947 MW (Men's Western) Pre-Rodeo Jeans recreate an exceptionally rare 1947 prototype of an American Western jean, developed during the transitional period before purpose-built rodeo jeans entered regular production. The “Pre-Rodeo” name refers precisely to this short-lived stage: a workwear-derived design already adapted to the needs of cowboys, but predating the fully established rodeo models that followed.

Warehouse reproduces the distinctive Western details with remarkable accuracy. Seven belt loops provide a secure fit around the waist while riding, while rounded, low-profile rivets were originally designed to help prevent damage to a saddle. The unusual coin pocket, elongated back pockets, characteristic decorative stitching, and period-specific seam construction further distinguish the 1008 from conventional five-pocket jeans.

The proprietary 13.5oz left-hand twill denim is woven from a three-state blend of American cotton using 7 x 7 yarns. Like the 1947 original, the fabric is sanforized and develops the pronounced vertical fading and textured character associated with vintage left-hand twill denim.

Our version has been rinsed by Statement Store, removing the initial shrinkage and giving the denim a softer, more comfortable feel from the first wear while retaining its deep indigo appearance.
