The Sugar Cane "Super Denim Collectibles" pays tribute to the legendary wartime jeans, meticulously crafted to replicate the unique models of the 1940s with outstanding attention to detail. Under the guidance of denim specialist Yuichi Fukutomi and in close collaboration with renowned vintage denim collector Shigeki Wakiya, this collection was developed as part of the SCSC (Sugar Cane Super Denim Collectibles) project to bring back the rugged charm and authenticity of that era.

The 1943 model, inspired by the "War Models" from World War II, exemplifies the resourceful solutions demanded by wartime material shortages. This 13.5 oz. denim, woven with irregular texture and oxidized indigo tones, captures the era’s grit and functionality. Military-style doughnut buttons, uncoated steel rivets, and flannel pocket linings reflect the strict material restrictions of the time. Additionally, the omission of rivets on the coin pocket preserves the genuine period style.

The war-era jeans are enriched with historical details: rough, uneven stitching, misaligned yokes, and imperfect hems, faithfully recreated to capture the authentic, vintage look and feel of the original pieces—elements shaped by the era's rush and lack of skilled labor. A must-have for collectors and denim enthusiasts who value true replicas and the deep history woven into these materials.
