Samurai Jeans S710XX17oz-SLB 17oz ‘Murakumo’ Slub Selvedge Jeans – Slim Straight / Tapered

The Murakumo model is one of Samurai Jeans’ most expressive denim creations, defined by an extraordinary surface and a rare color presence. Named after the ancient Japanese term for “a gathering of clouds,” the fabric mirrors an alternating sky of indigo and white. Deep indigo slub yarns form the base, while undyed slub yarns emerge irregularly across the surface, creating a cloud-like texture that feels alive even before wear.

Woven from 17oz extra-slub selvedge denim, the fabric combines strong rope-dyed indigo with a relatively loose weave, resulting in a surprisingly breathable hand and a bright, almost summery tone. Over time, the denim fades with high contrast and depth, enhancing the Murakumo effect with every wear.

Finished in Samurai’s S710 slim straight fit with a mid rise, the jeans balance structure and comfort. Details include iron “Rising Sun” buttons, hammered copper rivets, jacquard pocket bags, silver lamé selvedge, and a cowhide leather patch. A limited release that showcases Samurai’s most artistic side of denim making.
