Samurai Jeans S211BK ‘Koku Benkei’ 17oz Bushido Selvage Jeans – Black / Relaxed Tapered

Samurai’s Benkei jeans are a standout overseas model, inspired by the legendary monk-warrior Saitō Musashibō Benkei. Crafted from Samurai’s signature 17oz Bushido selvedge denim, they offer a distinctive texture along with durability and comfort. The S211BK cut features a relaxed tapered fit, a medium-high rise, and generous room in the thighs, tapering neatly to the hem for a modern silhouette.

The new black edition, Koku Benkei, retains the same fit while introducing a long-awaited dark denim. Made from slubby #5 rope-dyed yarns, the black denim is sulphur-dyed and woven at low tension on vintage shuttle looms, enhancing its richly textured surface. Over time, it develops striking fades reminiscent of indigo denim. Undyed ivory #5 threads in the weft add subtle contrast, enriching the design and highlighting its crafted details.

17oz Bushido Denim

Samurai’s Bushido denim is their most popular selvedge fabric, crafted on antique shuttle looms. This denim features a low-tension weave with hefty size 5 yarns, resulting in a heavyweight yet soft fabric with a rough texture and plenty of character!
