Samurai Jeans S211AX ‘AI-Benkei’ 18oz Natural Indigo Selvage Jeans - Relaxed Tapered

The Benkei jeans are currently the most popular fit in our Samurai Jeans selection, but the AI Benkei is something truly special

The obvious reason for this is that Samurai’s 18oz AI Plus Selvedge Denim is woven from rope-dyed Indigo x Indigo yarn. This unique dyeing process uses both natural and synthetic indigo. The warp threads are made from a high-twist yarn that’s rough and uneven. The weft is a slubby yarn that contains “Samurai Cotton,” cotton that is hand-grown and spun in Japan.

 The result is denim that’s impressive in every fiber, with a uniquely deep blue highlighted by its irregular and rough-slub texture. The crowning detail is the indigo-dyed selvedge line, which fades with wear and washing, just like the denim itself.
