In 1962, San Francisco ad man Howard Gossage had a wild idea: sell sweatshirts printed with the faces of classical composers to promote Rainier Ale. Beethoven, Bach, and Brahms became unlikely pop icons – and 60,000 shirts later, beer met high culture in one of advertising’s quirkiest moments.
Three years on, Charles Schulz took notice. His Peanuts character Schroeder, the eternal Beethoven devotee, proudly wore one of Gossage’s sweatshirts in the comic strip — a subtle nod to art, irony, and fandom.
This tee revives that cultural crossover — printed in bold black, it’s proof that even Beethoven can rock a T-shirt.
All TSPTR T-Shirts are ethically made from certified, high-quality organic cotton, using only water-based inks for the print.
