Prequel 6.5oz 1930s French Army Officer's Summer Pants – White / Relaxed Straight

What if a pair of 1930s French Army officer trousers were made today? Prequel answers that question with the Officer's Summer Pants, a remarkably detailed reinterpretation of military trousers originally developed for officers serving in warm climates.

The foundation is Prequel's own 6.5oz Summer Oxford, recreated from an original pair dating to around 1930. Rather than simply choosing a similar cloth, Prequel deconstructed and studied the vintage fabric, analyzing its yarn thickness, irregularities and weave density. Different slub yarns in the warp and weft reproduce the dry texture and visual depth of the original while retaining the breathability that made Oxford ideal for summer military wear.

The construction is equally distinctive. A high rise and generous straight leg create the period-correct silhouette, while wide belt loops, slanted front pockets and welted rear pockets reflect its utilitarian origins. Most striking is the buttoned rear waist adjuster, allowing the fit to be fine-tuned while giving the trousers their unmistakable 1930s military character.

Finished in White, the lightweight textured cloth transforms a functional military design into an exceptionally versatile summer trouser.
