Buzz Rickson’s Type M-65 ERDL ‘Water Repellent Civilian Model’ Parka – Camouflage

Buzz Rickson’s revisits one of the most iconic U.S. military outerwear designs — the M-65 fishtail parka, originally introduced as the successor to the M-51. This version, crafted in Japan, uses cotton ripstop fabric in the legendary ERDL camouflage pattern developed by the U.S. Army’s Engineer Research and Development Laboratory for special forces. The tightly woven ripstop is treated for water repellency, offering both wind protection and light rain resistance.

Faithful to the original silhouette, the parka features a Crown aluminum zipper, mil-spec brass snap buttons, and urea buttons, combining historical precision with Buzz Rickson’s hallmark durability. The long fishtail design ensures coverage and freedom of movement, true to its battlefield origins.
