John Lofgren Bootmaker shoes are masterpieces, and the Japanese brand is globally renowned for its exceptional quality – the M-43 Service Shoe is arguably the most famous model and an icon in the Lofgren universe.

The namesake and inspiration for this modern interpretation is the service shoe introduced by the U.S. Army in 1943. Steve McQueen famously wore it in The Great Escape, cementing its status as an icon.

Based on the Munson last and handcrafted largely in Japan, the construction details are truly remarkable: natural, roughout Horween Chromexcel cowhide, an unstructured toe, single, triple, and quadruple stitch construction, “Made in USA”-Vibram soles and heels, and a Goodyear welt made in the UK.

In short, the M-43 sets new standards in craftsmanship, comfort, and materials, seamlessly blending traditional techniques with modern boot aesthetics.
