Baracuta has never needed to shout. Since 1937, the brand has built jackets that quietly move through decades of style without ever looking dated. The Antique Suede Track Jacket carries that same DNA — just translated into suede.

Cut from premium goat suede, the leather is lightly treated to achieve a natural, time-softened finish. The surface shows depth and tonal variation from the first wear and will continue to develop character over time. Raglan sleeves ensure ease of movement, while ribbed collar, cuffs, and hem maintain the clean athletic silhouette that defined the original G9.

When Baracuta introduced its golf jacket in Manchester in the late 1930s, it was built for function. By the 1950s and 60s, it had been adopted by Ivy League students, Hollywood rebels, and British subcultures alike — not because it was loud, but because it was right. This suede interpretation follows that same philosophy. It refines the icon rather than reworking it.

Finished with a two-way zip and the unmistakable Fraser Tartan lining, this is not a trend piece. It is a continuation — softer in texture, firm in identity, and built to look better ten years from now than it does today.

      FAQ about Baracuta

      Where are Baracuta Jackets made?

In 1937, the Baracuta brand was founded by brothers John and Isaac Miller in the heart of Manchester. They wanted to offer stylish protection from the rainy British weather. At the same time, they saw golfers struggling to move in their jackets and coats during the game, especially when it was raining. To change this, they created the iconic G9 jacket in 1937. The "G" stands for golf and the number "9" for the nine holes of a golf course. The very first G9 Harrington jacket was then produced in 1938 and has since become one of the most famous jackets in the world. As a British brand, Baracuta is proud that its G9, G4 and G12 jackets made from Baracuta Cloth are still made in the UK in its London factory and will continue to be made there in the future.

Why are Baracuta Jackets so expensive?

The Harrington jackets from Baracuta are generally made of cotton, wool or the unique Baracuta Cloth - a breathable and water-repellent fabric. They impress with their quality and the long-lasting pleasure of wearing them. The jackets are still produced in Great Britain by trained employees. The production location and the fact that the jackets are carefully produced one after the other ultimately lead to a higher price.

      How should Baracuta G9 fit?

The fit of the Baracuta G9 is perfect for almost all body types, offering unique comfort and easily pairs with almost anything. The jacket is slim-fitted, with an excellent body and sleeve length. Despite its tailored design, it still provides ample room in the shoulder and chest area. The Baracuta Cloth is ideal for transitional seasons and even in cold weather up to freezing temperatures. If you want to keep the option open to wear a thicker sweater under the jacket, we recommend trying one size up if necessary.
