Buzz Rickson’s 13,6oz World War II Waist Overalls – Classic Straight

The Buzz Rickson Waist Overall pays homage to the denims of the World War II era. Shaped by the constraints of wartime economy, the design and production of jeans were stripped down to the essentials through strict regulations imposed by the U.S. government – the myth of the classic 5-pocket jeans was created in those days.

Crafted from original 13.6oz Selvedge Denim, a Buzz Rickson Waist Overall embodies all the historical features of jeans from that time: high rise, wide straight leg, iron donut buttons, olive HBT pocket bags, iron rivets, single color yellow stitching, no rivets on the coin pocket, single stitch for back pocket reinforcement (no bar-tacks), and a deerskin leather patch.

Two notable details on the cardboard tag/flasher are the phrase "FOR THE DURATION," referring to the specific material control requirements "during the war," and secondly, the "E" pennant, which means "Excellent." In the 1940s, the U.S. government awarded this designation to companies that performed outstandingly, and Buzz Rickson has more than earned it with this beautiful pair of jeans.
