UES 12.5oz Indigo Yarn-Dyed Honeycomb Thermal – Indigo Dyed

A special indigo version of UES’s heavyweight thermal, the 60WH-I is knitted from rope-dyed indigo yarn rather than being garment dyed. Because the indigo remains concentrated around the surface while the yarn core stays lighter, the fabric develops a distinctly denim-like fade with wear and washing.

Three cotton yarns are knitted together to create the substantial 12.5oz honeycomb fabric, combining pronounced texture with a surprisingly soft and flexible feel. Producing knitted fabric from yarn-dyed indigo is particularly demanding, as the dye can stain the knitting machinery, making this a rare fabric produced by only a limited number of factories in Japan.

The characteristic honeycomb structure provides warmth without sacrificing breathability, while a specialized four-needle sewing machine creates flatter seams and prevents excessive bulk. Ribbed cuffs and UES’s signature raw-cut hem complete this exceptional Japanese thermal.
