The Sugar Cane 13oz ‘Standard Denim‘ 2025 Model Waist Overalls takes its inspiration directly from the golden era of American workwear. Drawing from original waist overalls of the mid-1930s – the same period that produced the iconic 1936 denim blouse – this model revives the rugged spirit of early work pants while introducing a relaxed silhouette designed for modern wear.

Cut with a high rise and a wide leg from thigh to hem, the Lot No. SC42025 echoes the functional proportions of vintage work trousers. The result is a strong, authentic profile that feels comfortable, purposeful, and unmistakably heritage-inspired.

At the core of the design lies Sugar Cane’s renowned 13oz “Standard Denim”, a fabric developed through meticulous study of vintage garments. Unevenly spun yarns recreate the irregular texture of early denim, producing a surface rich with neps and depth. Woven on old shuttle looms and rope-dyed in deep indigo, the fabric promises expressive fading and a beautifully rugged patina as it ages.

While original 1930s waist overalls often featured suspender buttons and a cinch back, Sugar Cane opted for a cleaner interpretation. Still, essential pre-war details remain intact – including the crotch rivet, hidden rivets, leather patch, and the distinctive right-high center back seam construction.
