This black is nothing short of a revolution! Pure Blue Japan once again surpasses itself, fusing the inky depth of a moonless night with the copper warmth of a sunset in its 15oz Extra Slub Selvedge Denim.
Woven from ultra-uneven yarns, the fabric delivers irregular vertical fading. The weft is dyed in kakishibu - a traditional Japanese technique dating back to the 13th century that uses fermented persimmon tannins. The result: a denim with a bold copper undertone, which, combined with the sulfur-dyed black warp, develops a uniquely rich patina over time. Sunlight deepens the kakishibu tones, gradually drawing out reddish-brown highlights at stress points - a depth of character that can’t be replicated.
The XX-003 offers a modern take on the classic regular straight cut, ideal for those seeking comfort and versatility in a silhouette that’s clean but not too wide.
