Prequel 7oz ‘Long Point’ Jacquard Shirt – Natural / Navy

The Prequel Long Point Shirt draws directly from early 20th century European shirting. Its fabric is based on a 1907 French archival document, carefully recreated in Japan using a double-beam jacquard construction that gives the surface authentic depth and movement.

Constructed in Nishiwaki, Japan, on a double-beam jacquard loom, the fabric achieves a layered visual effect through independent warp control. This method produces a woven stripe with true structural relief rather than a flat pattern, echoing the complexity of historic French textiles. The interplay between natural and navy yarns creates rhythm across the surface, shifting as the light changes.

At 7oz, the cotton cloth holds its shape while remaining wearable across seasons. The elongated long point collar references 1930s French tailoring, extending slightly further than contemporary proportions and framing the neckline with intention. A single chest pocket and balanced silhouette keep the focus on the textile itself.

Made in Japan, the S1015 is defined by textile precision and historical continuity, expressed through material rather than ornament.
