John Lofgren JLB 12oz Champion Sneakers – Solid Olive

The John Lofgren Champion Sneaker is rooted in the era when canvas sneakers were built as practical athletic and military footwear rather than disposable fashion items. Inspired by training shoes and utility sneakers of the early to mid-20th century, the Champion combines understated design with the same commitment to craftsmanship that defines every John Lofgren product.

Unlike most modern sneakers, the Champion is produced at Moonstar in Japan, one of the last remaining factories specializing in traditional vulcanized footwear. Built from 12oz Japanese selvedge chino cloth, the upper offers a substantial feel rarely found in canvas sneakers today. The Solid Olive version draws direct inspiration from vintage military training footwear, while the Solid Black emphasizes a clean, versatile appearance that works with everything from denim to military trousers.

Construction is intentionally uncompromising. A double-layer vulcanized rubber sole, dense sponge insole, reinforced stress points, and double-stitched seams create a sneaker designed for years of wear. The result is a lightweight, low-profile shoe that delivers exceptional durability, comfort, and character while remaining true to the spirit of the original training sneakers that inspired it.
