Iron Heart 21oz Melton Wool M65 Field Jacket – Black / IHM-49-BLK

Inspired by the original U.S. military M65 field jacket issued in 1965, the Iron Heart IHM-49 takes a proven cold-weather silhouette and pushes it into true winter territory. The familiar four-pocket layout, high stand collar with hidden hood, and adjustable fit remain intact, but the overall presence is heavier, denser, and more purposeful. This is not a lightweight reinterpretation, but a jacket built to shut out cold, wind, and long days outdoors.

The shell is made from 21oz Japanese Melton wool, woven at an exceptionally high density and blended with 10% nylon for added durability. The fabric is naturally windproof and remarkably warm, while the 6.2oz Japanese Ventile cotton lining adds water resistance without sacrificing breathability. Inside, polyester twill sleeve linings ensure easy layering, while reinforced stitching, over-spec hardware, and a two-way YKK zipper underline the jacket’s utilitarian roots.

Designed by Shinichi Haraki, the IHM-49 is a winter field jacket with real authority – engineered for harsh conditions, built to last, and refined enough to stand apart from anything else in its class.
