Cold wind. Endless white. In 1955, a crew of scientists and soldiers braved Antarctica under the name Operation Deep Freeze, led by the United States Antarctic Program (USAP) - a mission that fused courage, curiosity, and cold-weather grit. The Warehouse Co. ‘Deep Freeze’ Sweatshirt honors that spirit, with an eye-catching collegiate-style penguin print as its unofficial mascot. Serious history, with a sense of humor.
The slightly relaxed fit of Warehouse & Co.’s classic Lot 401 frame, knitted with devotion on rare, slow-moving loopwheel machines - offers a level of softness and structure that’s second to none. Dyed in a blue-tinted Sumikuro, a traditional Japanese “ink black” that leans more toward deep navy than pitch black, the fabric is washed, and full of tonal character. The four-needle seams, set-in sleeves, and the 1930s-style V-insert pair with longer ribbed cuffs and waistband, echoing details found in vintage military training gear - only now, with a smile.
