17oz Left Hand Twill Uguisu Selvedge Denim
Uguisu is a small olive-green bird, also known as Japanese nightingale (Japanese bush warbler), which signals the start of spring in Japan. Uguisu's green color has a long history in Japan, dating back to the Edo period, and became a fashionable color in the late Meiji period. Uguisu denim combines this aesthetic with an old British military feel, replicating the dyeing technique of old army pants. With a special slub yarn and 17oz of fabric, the denim is made by Shinya mills. Samurai buttons feature a plum design, inspired by the uguisu's depiction in the ancient Japanese card game "Hanafuda."
