A visually stunning book presented by Tailor Toyo unravels the history of Sukajan (embroidered Souvenir Jackets). These so-called Japan Jackets were first seen in the Japanese city of Yokosuka – the home port of the US Navy 7th fleet. These jackets became popular among Sailors, Marines and Servicemen and were bought as Souvenirs at gift shops all over town. Tatsuro Matsuyama, a leading Japanese researcher of Sukajan history introduces 232 pages of precious original jackets from the late 1940s to the early 1960s.
