The TSPTR Snoopy Peace Corps T-Shirt pays homage to American counterculture and the Anti-War protest movement of the 1960s.
On March 1, 1961, John F. Kennedy signed Executive Order 10924, officially establishing the Peace Corps. Concerned about the growing revolutionary sentiment in the Third World, Kennedy saw the Peace Corps as a means of countering the stereotype of the "ugly American" and "Yankee Imperialism," especially in the emerging nations of post-colonial Africa and Asia. The consequences of the United States' military involvement in Vietnam and Southeast Asia also impacted the Peace Corps. During the conflict, a significant number of Peace Corps volunteers joined the American protest movement against the war.
All TSPTR T-shirts are ethically made from certified, high-quality organic cotton fabric. The print uses water-based ink exclusively.
