The Airmobile Snoopy T-Shirt pays homage to Francis Ford Coppola's film 'Apocalypse Now' and is part of the seasonal TSPTR 'Heart of Darkness' collection.
As Martin Sheen's Captain Willard ironically remarks in the film: "The First of the Ninth was an old cavalry division that traded in their horses for helicopters and then went tearing ass around Vietnam looking for trouble." All of the Air Cavalry props used in the scene were based on the Air Cav in Vietnam, right down to Kilgore’s Custer-like neckerchief, bugle, and the blaring Wagner music. Numerous Air Cavalry pilots in Vietnam adopted Snoopy and his Flying Ace persona as their lucky mascot, painting their helmets and Hueys with his likeness.
All TSPTR t-shirts are ethically made from certified, high-quality organic cotton fabric. The print uses water-based ink exclusively.
