Samurai Jeans S510XX 25oz ‘Ganryu-Jima’ Selvedge Jeans – Classic Straight / 25th Anniversary Special Edition

The Ganryu Jima Jeans, a limited-edition model celebrating 25 years, is inspired by the original S510XX – the very first release from Samurai Jeans – and is presented in a special 25oz denim edition to mark this anniversary.

Ganryū-jima, a small Japanese island, is famous for the legendary duel between samurai Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro on April 13, 1612. According to legend, Musashi arrived three hours late for the duel on the remote Ganryujima. Despite Kojiro wielding a Nodachi (Japanese longsword), Musashi triumphed using a Bokuto (wooden sword) he had crafted from an oar during his journey.

These jeans, with their classic straight cut, are distinguished by exquisite details that honor this historic confrontation. Some elements are subtle, like the pattern on the inner pocket, while others are more striking, such as the intricate arcuate stitching on the back pockets. The double stitching on one side symbolizes Musashi’s two-sword style, while the single stitching on the other side represents Kojiro’s one-sword technique.
