Tailor Orgueil is known for their fascinating fabric creations, but this black check dobby fabric surpasses all expectations. By sheer chance, Hidehiro, the creative mind behind Orgueil, stumbled upon a store specializing in vintage fabrics and discovered a book of French fabric samples over 100 years old.The fabric that captivated him the most was a black check wool fabric with so much character and texture that he simply had to buy the book.

The intricate reproduction of the fabric pattern was carried out on very old Schoenherr dobby looms in Aichi Prefecture. This complex pattern requires over 100 threads, which these old looms can weave with minimal pressure on the cotton fibers, resulting in the fabric's impressive texture and softness.

The best part is that the fabric, combined with the French workwear design details of this vest, is simply perfect and exceptionally comfortable as well as versatile to wear.
