Buzz Rickson’s M-51 Fishtail Parka – Olive Drab

First introduced in the early 1950s and issued to the US Army for the Korean War, the M-51 Fishtail Parka turned into an absolute symbol of counterculture for the uprising youth during the following decades of Cold War.

Its functionality and classic design cemented its undenied iconic menswear status. The outer shell is made from durable yet soft densely woven heavy cotton back satin and the parka features an inner button layer system that allows to attach an additional liner. Its pocket bags are made of lightweight wool to keep your hands dry and warm. All these qualities were not only appreciated by armed forces during combat but also by Scooter boys, Mods and youth cultures all over the world – even until today.
